Happy Easter! We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.
Sorry I haven't posted in so long- life has been kinda crazy these days! We have been out of town the past couple of weekends and there has been something every night of the week. But it is all "good" busy! 3 weeks ago Ladi Elizabeth and my mom and I went to Greensboro for our first (of many) girl weekends with my sister-in-law and her 2 girls. (Sadi and Macy- Sadi and Ladi are only 1 week apart in age and Macy is 3.) My brother was here in Wilmington for the weekend so it was all girls in their house. We had a blast! We didn't have anything in particular planned- the girls just wanted to hang out at the house and play. We did a little shopping and of course the "big" girls ordered PF Changs and watched a "Chic- Flic" while the little girls got in one bed to watch their movie! Ladi Elizabeth had soooo much fun playing babies and dress-up all weekend! We have already planned our next weekend together! Then 2 weeks ago our fam went to Charleston and ran the Cooper River run together and camped at James island. We had so much fun. We went with some dear friends of ours and their two boys and my Mom and Dad. Steven, Blake, Bryson and I along with our friend Keith ran in the race that Sat. morning. Steven and I love this race and the boys wanted to run with us this year. Blake and Keith ran the 6.2 miles in 52 mins. and Bryson and Steven and I came in at 1:09. We are so proud of them both! Mom and Dad helped us with the other 2 and of course we stayed in their RV. (I am not a huge fan of tent camping so it is so nice to have them take us in the RV!) And the campground was amazing! The children had such a great time riding their bikes on all the bike trails and exploring the park. We have already planned our trip for next years race and we are bringing more friends with us! Then this past weekend was Byson's 10th birthday! 10 on the 10th! Big year! Friday night we walked to our local Thai restaurant- per Bryson's request we ate outside in their garden under a private cabana. It was exactly what he wanted to do and the weather could not have been more perfect! (no bugs!) Steven's mom and my parents came with us and we ordered lots of wonderful dishes and shared them! (Bryson took pics of everything we ordered!) Then on Sat. after the Easter egg hunt we had a surprise birthday party for Bryson. We had told him that Charleston was his "party" and he didn't request anything else so with a little planing and luck that his birthday came at Easter we told him that we had another hunt to go to Sat. afternoon at our church's activity center. When he walked in and we yelled surprise he was so stunned! (Of course after the party we had to explain to Ladi and Brady that there wasn't another egg hunt we had to "lie" a little to surprise Bryson!) He had a really fun party- our church's activity center has what we call "The Cove"- it is a very cool hang out for kids and teenagers (and Daddies too!) Filled with wide screen televisions, several arcade games, pool tables, ping pong tables, Wiis, Playstations, loud music, and tons more over stimulating items! I think we will have more birthday parties there! Then of course we celebrated Easter on Sunday with our families. Ladi Elizabeth was so excited to wake up and see if the Easter bunny brought her a chocolate Easter bunny just for her to eat! Then we went to church and I wanted Ladi to stay in the service for a little while to hear the beautiful music from the organ and choir. (We usually go to the early service which is contemporary and I wanted to hear the traditional service for Easter) She loved the chimes and the trumpets and seeing all the flowers at the alter. AS I was holding her on my lap I keep thinking about how last Easter we were awaiting her arrival and how I felt last year this time. My how things are so different this year! God is so good! Then our minister came out in the Baptismal pool which is high above the alter and he was wearing his white robe and Ladi Elizabeth said," Is that Jesus?" Steven and I lost it! It was so funny because for the past couple of weeks we have been talking about the true meaning of Easter-trying to explain the celebration to her- Jesus' death and resurrection- His love for us- His spirit in us-Jesus is alive! No our minister is not Jesus- but I see and feel His spirit everyday and I think Ladi Elizabeth does too!
